Comporta is often referred to as the HAMPTON’S of Portugal. Looking at the photo above, this is one of the many lovely beaches in the Comporta area. Sand dunes, wooden board walks, pristine beaches, aqua and deep blue water, pine forests, this is the landscape that you will experience on your visit.

I truly am so excited to be planning culinary tours in Portugal this year. Ten years ago when I closed the restaurant and dreamed of leading culinary tours abroad I never would have guessed Portugal. I still am not exactly sure how Comporta became my culinary target, but now that I am immersed in organizing my itinerary I am so happy this is my chosen paradise. What can my travelers expect? Lets start with the villa selection. I have been working with Le Collectionist to find that one perfect beautiful villa to host our week of culinary adventures. I believe I have found they villa that we will call home in Portugal.

Villa Carragueira – The villa accommodates up to 14 travelers with seven bedrooms and seven bathrooms. On the property, guests can enjoy the outdoor pool, nature reserve, tennis court, and volleyball area.

So I do have specifics when I am researching villa’s you can bet that I do. Our villa must have a POOL.

The pool area of Villa Carragueira. Arrival day is on Saturday and we have a cocktail hour by the pool at 7:00pm. The perfect place and atmosphere to have our group meet before our welcome dinner.

As a chef leading a culinary tour you must already know that the kitchen is very important to me. I like plenty of room in the kitchen for my guests to join me in creating memories as well as fabulous meals.

Its important that our guests are well rested so that they can participate in all of our great activities through out the week. I do require that each bedroom have its own bath.

I look for comfortable indoor spaces for guests to enjoy their first cup of coffee, check their emails, start a good book.

I really love outdoor spaces, the properties that we select are landscaped so beautifully. Nestled in such beautiful areas it would be a shame not to be out in nature and be consumed by the beauty.

So this is first for me renting a villa with bocce court, tennis, volley ball, and 20 minute bicycle ride to the beach.. I sure am glad that I have been working out so that I can take part in any sports activities.
