Croatia Culinary Delights 2026

It all began with our welcome party at Baraka Winery in Sibenik Croatia, July 3rd 2026. This was our first culinary tour in Croatia on a private yacht charter with thirty six travelers. I really wanted a place for everyone to meet before we boarded our ship. Baraka Winery is such a lovely venue, it was summer and it was hot so the evening began with perfectly chilled local white wine followed by a rose’. In the heat of the summer in Croatia I can easily be a “rose’ all day” kind of a girl. We then had the pleasure of sampling local meats, seafood, cheeses, breads, olive oil, jam, nuts, fruit along with some red wine tastings. A perfect way to start our culinary week in Croatia.

With the private yacht charters we are served a four course lunch right after our swim stop. Here is a sample of one of our first lunches. Not to shabby, the quality and the amount of food that the chefs on the ship put out is pretty amazing. A burrata salad, falafel with hummus, sea bass baked in parchment with vegetables and cheesecake with strawberries. You must learn to pace yourself!

The breakfast on the ship is served buffet style from 7:30am – 9:30 am, which is perfect. As we found out there were several of us early risers and walkers, and others who enjoyed to sleep in. There was always fresh fruit, meats, cheeses, cereals, yogurt (but not the thick Greek style) I heard the chocolate & apricot croissants were to die for, so therefore I did not try them. You can also order eggs from the kitchen with your preference of how you like them cooked. There are a variety of teas, juices and a coffee machine, I needed my cappuccino every morning.

We had a special delivery of fresh mussels and oysters brought to the ship. I am here to tell you they are amazing in freshness, flavor, size and texture. They were perfect.

Really such a special treat the chefs prepared for us. The oysters and mussels were so sweet, fresh and smaller which gave them a nicer texture.

Another fabulous lunch on board our ship… a fresh fig bruschetta, homemade spinach ravioli filled with goat cheese, hand made pasta with seafood, cheesecake with pistachio & cherry.

We had a special baking demonstration for the Rab Torte, which is a special almond pastry prepared with a cherry brandy from the island of Rab. Its quite delicious and I plan to make it in Colorado.

This was one of our Captains Dinners that the chefs prepared for us on the ship. Its mazing what the chefs can prepare in a very small kitchen. If you are a seafood lover you will be in heaven in Croatia. And if you are a meat lover we experienced lamb, veal, beef tenderloin, pork chops there is something for every palette.

One of my favorite experiences was the Skradin Risotto at the Baraka Winery. It s a very long process of slow cooking of veal and making the risotto, traditionally prepared outdoors in very large pots over open fire stirring with a wooden oar. This flavor dish is usually only served for special occasions. The risotto is best paired with a local Croatian red wine.

A favorite restaurant was The Bronzin in Sibenik, Croatia. I fell in love with this town and truly cannot wait to return…. yes because I would like to charter a yacht at least one more time. We tasted alot of good bread and extra virgin olive oil through out Croatia.

Favorite beverages in Croatia this summer….. Cappuccino, Rose’ and Hugo Spritz…..

Croatia it was a great summer filled with so much beauty. I simply cannot wait until I can return.
