Classes

Cooking classes are usually 2½ to 3 hours in length. We eat everything we make, so bring your appetite! You will receive recipes and instructions, and the cooking classes are hands-on.

You may register an upcoming class by clicking on the class in the list below and following the instructions to make an online payment. You may also contact us to reserve your spot over the phone with a credit card. Please give 48 hours notice if you need to cancel your reservation.

Private cooking classes are also available. Please contact Shelly to book a private cooking class.

Stuffed Beef Tenderloin Cooking Class

Beef tenderloin stuffed with caramelized garlic, spinach, roasted tomatoes & fontina cheese. Cooked in the Sous Vide and finished on the grill, served with a salsa verde and balsamic grilled veggies. Sous Vide Burrata Soufflé’s with tomato jam and toasted ciabatta. For dessert Bella’s Banana Foster.

Such a beautiful presentation, and so easy to prepare the salt crusted fish. The fish will be served with a grilled asparagus & tomato faro salad with feta cheese & herb garlic vinaigrette. For a starter a peel and eat shrimp & toasted baguette. For dessert a dark chocolate semifreddo with fresh berries.

A Sicilian tradition of making pasta and eating it off a wooden board. The Seafood Pasta Scannaturi is a Bella Bistro twist. And it is so good with fresh lemon pasta, a variety of fresh seafoods. To start we will prepare a Calamari Caesar salad and to finish gelato’s a pistachio and double dark chocolate.

Bella Style Paella with seafood, pork belly, saffron, smoked paprika and bomba rice. One of my favorite dishes to cook and to eat. We will start our evening with shrimp and chorizo empanadas. For dessert we will prepare a creme caramel.

Discada is a mixed meat dish popular in the northern Mexican states of Baja California, Sinaloa, Sonora, Chihuahua, Coahuila, Durango, Aguascalientes, Zacatecas, Nuevo León and Tamaulipas. The dish includes a mixture of grilled meats, roasted chilies, tortilla’s cooked on an agricultural plow disk, hence its name.
We will be cooking carne asada, tequila marinated shrimp, making fresh tortillas, a variety of salsa’s. A chili queso tamale with tomatillo salsa to start and watermelon lime tequila sorbet to finish the evening.

KAMAYAN TABLE – An ancient and traditional way of eating with your hands in the Philippines, a large Kamayan table is typically set after the “ani” (harvest) to celebrate the fruits of the land and labor. In a modern setting, Kamayan is usually the quickest way of enjoying food without the fuss of plates and utensils. Often regarded as savage and uncivilized, this form of dining was shunned by westerners and city-dwelling Filipinos alike, but still very alive in the rural provinces and is showing up on menus across the U.S.

Private Cooking Classes

Host your private cooking event for any occasion. Cooking events are held at the Culinary Studio. You can organize a cooking class, interactive cooking demonstration or intimate dinner party. Menu’s will be customized for you based on fresh seasonal ingredients. A really fun way to celebrate with family and friends.

PERSONAL PIZZA PARTIES
Looking for something unique and fun for your next social event? Host your personal pizza party.
Start the evening by sabering a bottle of bubbles and  Invite your friends and family, bring your favorite wine.  Learn to make Bella’s pizza dough and toppings. Select a salad & dessert to accompany your pizza. Gluten free crust available upon request.  Please email shelly@bellabistro.com to inquire about booking your private pizza party.

Baking Bread

We’ll make a variety of breads including French baguette, fugasse, focaccia, pizza dough, pretzel rolls, and hamburger buns. I love to make bread so I am always adding to my recipe collection.

Pasta

I am constantly adding to my collection of pasta tools. I would have to say making pasta is one of my favorite things to do. I teach the basic pastas as well as Italian regional specialties.

Sauce Class

Sauces always add the special finishing touch to any dinner, whether a truffle cream, red wine demi glaze, port cherry, Marsala, or simple red sauce. A sauce can be paired with a protein to create a tasty dinner.

Braising

Name your meat: pork belly, veal, pork or lamb shank or short ribs. Winter is the best time of year to braise. Learn all the tips and techniques and sit down to a wonderful dinner.

Summer Grilling

The most common mistake with grilling is over-cooking. You will learn to grill meats and seafood to the perfect temperature so that they will not be dried out. Learn to make rubs, marinades, sauces, and salsas. Make everything on the grill so you can enjoy the outdoors.

Regional Italian

Whether you have been to Italy or you are just dying to go, you can pick any region (or I can help you choose) and we can create a menu together. I love teaching regional cooking classes and pairing wine with the courses.
